UFC Fight Night: Mark Hunt Believes In His Power

Mark Hunt knows you can’t afford to look back in this sport.

Hunt, who had his chance to claim the interim UFC heavyweight title dashed when Fabricio Werdum finished him last year, will face Stipe Miocic at UFC Fight Night 65 in May.

During a recent appearance on Submission Radio, Hunt (10-9-1) talked about the November defeat to Werdum and more.

“I didn’t even look at that fight,” he said. “I didn’t watch the replay. I don’t like going back and looking at ‘shoulda, woulda, couldas.’ I know the mistakes I made and it happens to everyone.

“You make a mistake and you get caught. I got caught. It happened and this is the top end. You can’t muck around with that sort of jazz.”

Hunt has earned some of the biggest knockouts in the heavyweight division, finishing the likes of Roy Nelson, Stefan Struve and Cheick Kongo. He knows Miocic is a tough task, but believes in his talents and power.

“I am one of the best fighters in the world,” he said. “It doesn’t matter how technical you are. You get hit once, it’s lights out baby. I respect Stipe like all my opponents.”
